In an online survey commissioned by Hilton Hotels & Resorts and conducted by Edelman Berland, data shows that the majority of people use airport hotels out of convenience, otherwise describing them as “boring, expensive, and crowded.”
Hilton Hotels & Resorts aims to change this with a new generation of airport hotels that have inspiring design, updated amenities, F&B options, and wellness offerings. Such airport hotels are being introduced by the brand around the world, from Beijing to Munich and New York.
For example, the Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is a unique structure featuring a 137-foot-high glazed roof, an open-plan lobby, and commissioned bespoke furniture pieces by Spanish artist Israel Páez.
After seeing images of the Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, 74 percent of survey participants who were unlikely to stay at airport hotels said they are now likely to choose one.
