25hours Hotels has announced that AccorHotels will acquire a 30 percent capital stake in Hamburg-based hotel brand. The acquisition comes as part of 25hours’ ongoing expansion efforts. The deal is awaiting final approval from German and Austrian antitrust authorities.
“Loyal partners have supported our growth in the German-speaking market for the past 10 years and we now also have the opportunity to conquer the world with a global partner,” says 25hours CEO Christoph Hoffmann, who will remain at the helm of the brand. “This strategic partnership represents a key milestone in our company’s history and a new adventure we are looking forward to.”
“This alliance came about because we were immediately attracted by these individual, design-oriented boutique hotels that are a great workplace for urban nomads and an ideal starting point for outings into key cities,” AccorHotels CEO and chairman Sébastien Bazin adds. “Through this partnership, AccorHotels is investing further in one of the fastest growing segments in the industry and enriching its offer to achieve scale in this segment. Today, we are going one step further in our strategy to be a global leader in lifestyle hotels.”
25hours currently operates seven properties in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Vienna, and Zurich. Five additional hotels are slated to open over the next two years in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Munich, Paris, and Zurich. The brand is also expanding its head office in advance of opening properties in Melbourne, Miami, or Milan, and will launch its creative Extra Hour Lab in Hamburg, where it will conduct new design experiments.
“Designing appealing hotels with exciting concepts is not enough. A country network with local experience and expertise is also needed. Thanks to AccorHotels’ longstanding know-how and worldwide support infrastructure, this is precisely what we now have on every continent,” Hoffmann adds.
