The Independent Lodging Congress has announced its 2016 conference will take place from October 26-28th at New York’s High Line Hotel. The annual hospitality conference brings together insiders and leaders from around the world of independent hotels.
As part of the event’s annual INDIE Awards, Chip Conley, head of global hospitality and strategy for Airbnb, will be honored with this year’s Start Something award, presented by Big Brothers Big Sisters. Conley is also the founder and former CEO of Joie de Vivre Hospitality and author of the New York Times bestselling Emotional Equations: Simple Truths for Creating Happiness + Success. Previous winners include Commune Hotels + Resorts’ CEO Niki Leondakis and Liz Lambert of Bunkhouse Group.
The two-and-a-half-day event will feature extensive programming, from panels to case studies. Topics will include “Mergers & Acquisitions: Is Bigger Better?,” “Tech Talk: Start Ups That Change How We Travel,” “#NoFilter Forum: An In-Depth Discussion with Social Media Influencers in the Travel Space,” and “Room Service: Trending or Tired?”
