Jul 30, 2010
The Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London has unveiled its opulent 1,670-square-foot Royal Suite, which offers views over Knightsbridge, Westminster, and Cadogan Gardens. Khuan Chew, the interior designer responsible for the Jumeirah's flagship hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai, has incorporated rich textures and opulent finishings, including a fiber-optic "star-lit" ceiling, a Swarovski crystal feature piece, and silk pile carpets. Innovative features include a high-tech TOTO toilet, a COCO-MAT mattress filled with coconut shell fibers, fossil marble and granite floors, and French and Italian designed furniture. The bathroom, meanwhile, showcases a Wet Room with deep Jacuzzi bath, walk-in rain shower, and flooring inlaid with jasper and marble. The suite's expansive lounge and dining area are home to a fully equipped galley kitchen, freestanding bar, a full-length handcarved walnut dining table that seats 10, and Bang & Olufsen audio-visual technology.
