Networking Activities

Our sole afternoon at HD Summit is dedicated to networking in a structured, but unorthodox, way. Best of all, you will share the experience with clients, peers, and colleagues. Get to know them in small group settings and one-to-one. After all, people want to do business with people they know and trust.

THURSDAY AFTERNOON OPTIONS (additional fees apply)

18 Holes of Golf at Spyglass Hill
Thursday afternoon, February 25

(to book golf with fellow Summiteers, please email: kara.kobrzycki@nielsen.com)

Carmel Valley Wine Tasting Tour
Thursday afternoon, February 25
1 PM-5 PM
$135 per person

Venture into scenic Carmel Valley and sample the region’s best wines among Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, and more. We’re leaving the final selection of three wineries to the experts at Pebble Beach Resorts—their concierge and sommelier know best based on our final group size and time constraints. At press time, here are the wineries: Joullian Vineyards, featuring estate reds and three styles of Chardonnay; Bernardus Winery, for wines made in the Bordeaux style; and Georis, known for fine Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Includes wine tasting, bottled water, and round-trip transport.

Big Sur Scenic Excursion
Thursday afternoon, February 25
12:30 PM-4:45 PM
$80 per person

Slow-paced, low-key, remote, and mostly natural. That is one writer’s apt description of the unspoiled landscape of Big Sur. Take your box lunch with you as you head south to the stunning canyons and rugged coastline of Big Sur, one of the most beautiful natural vistas in North America. The name, derived from the original Spanish-language "el sur grande," or "the big south," refers to the viewpoint of early Monterey settlers as they explored the region. In the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, it earned renown as a haven for movie stars (Orson Welles, Rita Hayworth) and as an inspiring retreat for great writers and intellectuals (Henry Miller, Jack Kerouac, Abraham Maslow). Your tour includes stops at various natural points of interest and a walk in the redwoods, weather permitting. [Please wear comfortable clothing, warm layers, and athletic footwear.]
Includes round-trip transport, bottled water, and nature guide.

Pebble Beach Resorts Design Tour
Thursday afternoon, February 25
1:30 PM-3:45 PM
$50 per person

Visit Pebble Beach’s three world-class resorts with an eye on design. You’ll tour public spaces and guestrooms and suites (as available) at The Inn at Spanish Bay, The Lodge at Pebble Beach, and Casa Palmero, a five-star enclave featuring just 24 keys. Learn the storied facts behind their development, and understand design programming as it relates to each distinct property.
Includes transportation among the properties.

Sea Kayaking on Stillwater Cove
Thursday afternoon, February 25
1:30 PM-4 PM
$140 per person

Located off the spectacular 17th green at Pebble Beach, Stillwater Cove has earned its name from the serene calmness that most often characterizes its waters. Your leisurely-paced kayak adventure will give you a unique vantage point from which to view the world-famous Lodge at Pebble Beach and Pebble Beach Golf Links, plus Point Lobos State Park and Carmel Beach. And wildlife? Expect to see seals, sea otters, marine bird species, and other animals that make their homes in this protected area. Individual ocean kayaks are safe and fun for paddlers at any level of experience, with expert instruction and weather-appropriate gear provided. Your guides will accompany the group to share history and ecology of the area. [Please wear comfortable clothing, warm layers, and athletic footwear; water-resistant outerwear and life vests are provided.]
Includes kayak rental, all gear, and expert instruction/guides.

Horseback Riding with The Pebble Beach Equestrian Center
Thursday afternoon, February 25
2 PM-4 PM
$145

Explore the beauty of the Monterey Peninsula with the experts at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center. On horseback for more than an hour, ride to some of the most breathtaking sights on earth. See the rugged Pacific coastline, including Cypress Point and Spyglass. Climb natural dunes and view deer, gray whales, sea lions, and sea otters. [Please wear comfortable clothing, warm layers, and athletic footwear or boots.]
Includes all equestrian fees and group guide.

Land Rover Experience Off-Road Driving Challenge
Thursday afternoon, February 25
1:15 PM-4:30 PM
$275 per person

Regardless of your driving skill level—off-road novice or seasoned pro—you’ll benefit from off-road training in a unique classroom: a four-wheel drive SUV built by Land Rover. At Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley, Land Rover’s exclusive off-road driving course allows you to hone your skills in less-than-predictable ways. Have you ever driven while blindfolded? You will as one of three off-road challenges that comprise a truly memorable event. Take off on competitive team activities with your expert instructor and navigate rugged terrain and impossibly tight courses. We operate rain or shine—the weather just adds to the experience. Take away a certificate of course completion and a complimentary Land Rover cap to remember your experience. [Please wear comfortable clothing, warm layers, and athletic footwear.]
Includes Land Rover rental, instruction, challenge course, and instructor coaching, signature cap, plus round-trip transport.

Peppoli Cooking Demonstration and Tasting
Thursday afternoon, February 25
1 PM-3 PM
$110 per person

Chef Arturo Moscoso delivers an expert and enthusiastic demonstration of cooking in the rustic Italian style of Pebble Beach’s famed Peppoli restaurant at the Inn at Spanish Bay. Your afternoon luncheon, wine tasting, and culinary experience includes a Florentine-inspired menu based on local, seasonal ingredients whenever possible. Peppoli, named for a wine estate of Italian vintner Piero Antinori, pairs estate wines in the Tuscan tradition with signature dishes (such as wild boar ragu with pecorino and gnocchi with English peas). The chef will prepare a range of house specialties for this HD Summit tasting. (We’ve sampled a few and they are amazing!)
Includes cooking demonstration and luncheon tasting.
