TownePlace Suites at Baltimore Airport Goes for LEED Certification
Jan 22, 2010
TownePlace Suites by Marriott at Baltimore BWI Airport will received LEED Existing Building Certification for green retrofits and practices it has implemented. Among the hotel's eco-friendly initiatives: composting all breakfast waste to achieve zero waste, using sustainable and environmentally friendly cleaning products, replacing plumbing hardware with low-flow devices, and purchasing renewable energy wind credits to offset the hotel's carbon footprint.
The hotel's owners have another property on the LEED docket: Fairfield Inn & Suites Baltimore, located on the site of the former Baltimore Brewing Company, has a rain barrel made from the brewery's repurposed grain storage silo that's used to serve the hotel's landscaping irrigation needs.
