Emma Gardner Design has introduced nine rugs handmade in Nepal. Made of Chinese silk and Tibetan wool, the designs all feature 100 knots per inch, a five-millimeter (.19 inch) pile, and are Rugmark certified. The styles include:
• Cascade (Plum Kitten), featuring muted plum pebble-like shapes cascading over a bone white ground.
• Fire Island (Pale Shell and Blue Green, pictured left). Both styles were inspired by a shell and sport abstracted organic shapes.
• Flowers on the Water (Fog and Plum Kitten), defined by their kimono-inspired design.
• Spray (Kyoto), whose rich chocolate and cream colors are emphasized by the lushness of raised silk pile.
• Peony (Silky Wheat), where shimmery amber and buff colors contribute to this contemporary take on Japanese Kakemono.
• Swirl (Fog), featuring metallic tones that add movement to this fireworks design.
• Tiny Stripes (Whisper), featuring a combination of cut, loop, and silk stripes in muted plums, cool deep blues, and bronze on a soft gray ground.
