Kansas Speedway and the Cordish Company have proposed a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino near the track in Wyandotte County. The project, estimated to cost $700 million, would include a 300-room luxury hotel; an expansive casino; 275,000 square feet of retail, dining, and entertainment space; and large meeting and convention facilities.
With the proposed development, the Speedway hopes to draw a second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event.
