For the newly opened W Atlanta-Buckhead, New York City designer and style icon Thom Filicia has brought a country club chic vibe to the 291-room property. With simple, strong lines and a muted palette with splashes of bold color, rich textures, and smart patterns, Filicia maintains the grand traditions of Southern hospitality, paying homage to the city's history and culture. The hotel's heated outdoor infinity-edge swimming pool, surrounded by cabanas, also contributes to the chic Southern style.
The hotel's opening also marks the American debut of chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Market, which extends into the W Living Room. Nightlife guru Rande Gerber has created Whiskey Blue, a rooftop bar and lounge whose design is a contemporary update of a vintage Palm Springs desert retreat. Guests will take a private glass elevator to an illuminated walkway with dramatic views on one side and a sculptural installation on the other as polished stainless steel panels pave the way.
