In a first for the company, MGM Mirage is looking for growth beyond building its own assets by franchising and managing properties abroad. The hotel-gaming operator has signed 10 deals—most of which do not include casinos—throughout the Middle East and Asia.
Two properties that will offer gambling are MGM Grand resorts in Ho Tram, Vietnam, and Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The Associated Press also reports that MGM Grand, Bellagio, and Skyloft hotels are planned for in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Cairo, Egypt, and Mumbai, India, will play host to Bellagios; MGM Mirage also has plans for four branded hotels in China.
