The first hotel for Hoboken, New Jersey, is in the final phases of construction. The W Hotel, designed by Gwathmey, Siegel & Associates Architects, will celebrate its grand opening in February. Nearly all of the hotel's 225 guestrooms, as well as the outdoor terrace with fireplaces, offer views of the New York City skyline. One of the hotel's most striking design elements is its spiral staircase that rises 44 feet. Peter Bentel will oversee design of the restaurants 100-seat steakhouse. A 4,000-square-foot ballroom is the highlight of the W's meeting space. The property also features a Bliss Spa and 40 residential units.
