Hotel Indigo has opened its first New York City site in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. Designed to reflect its surroundings, the 122-room new-build property incorporates color inspired by the nearby flower shops and the rich textures and fabrics of the Garment District. Architect Nobutaka Ashihara designed the property with creative input from Morris Moinian, president and founder of Fortuna Realty Group, the hotel's developer and operator.
In guestrooms and public spaces, images by fashion photographer Marco Glaviano are used as large-scale wall murals. Exterior lighting, meanwhile, creates a blue glow around the 20-story hotel in the evening.
Guestrooms are outfitted with custom-designed furniture imported from Italy, oversized beds, plush bedding, hardwood-style flooring, and spa-inspired showers with Aveda products. The hotel's amenities include a business center, meeting space, fitness studio, Blu restaurant, and rooftop lounge Glass Bar.
