Thompson Hotels and the recently formed Do Not Disturb Restaurant Group have introduced two new venues to the Donovan House in Washington, DC: modern Asian restaurant Zentan, designed by Studio Gaia, and a rooftop pool and bar called Above DC (ADC). Chef Susur Lee will spearhead Zentan, Mandarin for "spy" and a nod to the hotel's namesake, Wild Bill Donovan, the father of the CIA. The restaurant's interiors use a palette of deep purple and lavender paired with dark woods; a sushi bar and large communal table create individual areas for diners.
Modeled after A60 at 60 Thompson in New York City and ABH at Thompson Beverly Hills, ADC features a full-service bar, heated pool surrounded by chaise lounges, horizontal fireplace, Brazilian ipe decking, and cherry blossom trees.
