A new Holiday Inn has debuted in Memphis, 57 years to the day after the brand's first hotel opened in the city. Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Memphis-Wolfchase features the brand's "next generation" prototype design, which offers an upgraded and decluttered lobby area, signature scent and sound, new bedding available in soft and firm options, and upgraded showers.
Owned by the family of Kemmons Wilson, Holiday Inn's founder, the 133-room hotel offers museum memorabilia from the first property, including an original room set on display with bed, desk, lamp, and chair. A collection of 80 historical photos also decorates the hotel, whose amenities include Kem's restaurant, a fitness center, indoor heated pool and whirlpool, and 3,000 square feet of function space.
