Hospitality Design (HD) magazine, published 10 times a year, is the premier trade magazine serving the field of hospitality design. It connects owners, operators, purchasing agents, designers, and architects involved in the design of hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise ships, nightclubs/lounges, spas, and all other hospitality-oriented projects. HD continues its 30-plus-year mission to publish the accomplishments of various design teams that collaborate to bring the most innovative examples of new construction and renovation to the industry.
Hospitality Design links buyers and sellers through various trade shows, conferences, products, services, and awards:
|Hospitality Design Exposition & Conference (HD Expo):
The preeminent trade show for the hospitality design industry takes place May 13-15, 2015, at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Manufacturers get the opportunity to reach hospitality design professionals face-to-face, display/introduce products, and build relationships, while attendees see the newest and best products on the market, listen to compelling panel discussions, and network and socialize. See photos from the 2014 HD Expo.
|Hospitality Design Summit (HD Summit): An exclusive invitation-only conference where top hospitality design
executives gather in a thought camp environment to gain inspiration and
insight from visionary speakers from outside the industry, hone their
leadership skills, and connect with industry peers.
||Design Americas: Join us September 16-17, 2015 in Miami Beach, Florida, as we bring together designers and experts from contract, healthcare, hospitality, and retail design segments. Learn about new ideas and meet professionals like you who are curious about how design looks in your world. Inquire here for information about speakers, schedules and more.|
|Hospitality Design Awards for Creative Achievement: The annual program’s categories, developed by a panel of prominent designers, offer both a departure from other awards programs and creative opportunities for entrants. An awards ceremony honoring the 2014 winners and finalists selected by prestigious industry judges will take place June 2015 in New York, and both winners and finalists were featured in the June issue of HD. View 2014 winners.|
|Platinum Circle: Every year this lifetime achievement award is given to individuals who make a significant contribution in the field of hospitality design. For the 25th anniversary, the gala honoring these individuals is moving from HD Expo to New York on November 11th, providing an ideal networking event for all industry members.|
|IIDA/HD Product Design Awards: Co-sponsored by HD and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), these awards are held in conjunction with the annual HD Expo to recognize quality design. Winners will be featured in the Show Daily, delivered at HD Expo, and in the July issue of HD. View past winners here.
|Best of Americas Product Design Competition and Awards: Sponsored by HD, these awards honor the most innovative products on the HD Americas’ show floor. For an entry form, please contact Alissa Ponchione, associate editor, at 646.668-3749 or firstname.lastname@example.org.|
|CitySCENE: Next Generation Networking events are near-monthly regional gatherings that bring together up-and-coming and established hospitality professionals—including designers, architects, purchasing agents, brand executives, and owners—for a fun evening of networking in cities across the country, including Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and Washington, DC.
|Wave of the Future: For more than a decade, we have annually honored a handful of designers, architects, and owners as our Wave of the Future, those who are young enough to be considered visionary, but tested enough to be accomplished. This year, we have compiled another stellar group: director of design Audra Tuskes, director of design of Commune Hotels and Resorts; principals Stacy Elliston and Kellie Sirna of Studio 11 Design; vice president of design Heather Maloney of design at King and Grove; senior vice president of brand development Brendan McNamara of Hampshire Hotels, Vikram Chatwal Hotels, and Dream Hotels; principal Josh Held of Josh Held Design; and director of design Colin Seah, director of Ministry of Design. Look out for coverage of them in our June issue, and attendees and sponsors of the newly launched NextGen Forum, June 12-13th at theWit Hotel Chicago, heard them live during a panel discussion.|
